This private reference service is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Direct each request to the responsible public office.

Official Record Contacts

Start a Boyd County booking, arrest-report, or photograph request with the agency that made or maintains the record. The official county site does not list a separate records-unit number, a booking-office schedule, a photo-request form, or a current photo fee. Ask the office to identify the current custodian, any confirmed receiving facility, and the statutory basis for any withholding.

Boyd’s former local jail was used through 1983. County records support Holt County Jail as an apparent housing partner, but the placement of a specific person must be confirmed with Boyd County Sheriff. Holt County’s official site lists Sheriff Ben Matchett at 410 E Benton, Suite 1, O’Neill, NE 68763, phone 402-336-2850. Use that office only as a custody-verification route after confirming the facility relationship.

  • For a filed misdemeanor, traffic, or preliminary felony matter, use the Boyd County Court, 401 Thayer Street or PO Box 396, Butte, NE 68722, 402-360-0814. Its listed office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Tuesday calls route through Rock County Court.
  • For a district-court file, use the Boyd District Court, PO Box 26, Butte, NE 68722, 402-775-2391.
  • For a sentenced Nebraska state-custody record, use the NDCS incarceration search or the NDCS records-request process.
  • For federal sentenced custody or immigration detention, use the official BOP locator or ICE locator. These are not Boyd booking systems.

A written request should name the person, an approximate arrest or booking date, the known arresting agency, and the particular existing record sought. The Boyd County record path explains how custody, booking, court, and later state or federal records differ.
